For boys aged 11 and over — a place to spend time together in a setting their parents can trust.

Safeguarding

The masjid takes its responsibility to young people seriously. Every adult working with the youth club is known to the committee, and any concern raised is acted on.

This section is incomplete and must be finished before the page goes live. The masjid has not yet appointed a designated safeguarding lead. A named person, their contact details, and a written safeguarding policy are all needed here. We have deliberately left this blank rather than write something reassuring that is not yet true.

About the Club

What happens

The youth club gives boys somewhere to go that is neither school nor the street — sport, activities, food, and conversation with adults who take them seriously and expect something of them.

It is run by volunteers from the congregation. Attendance is free of charge unless a particular activity has a cost, which is always agreed with parents beforehand.

Before your son attends

A registration pack must be completed and returned first. It covers emergency contacts, medical needs, any allergies, and your consent. No boy can attend without it — this protects your son, and it protects the volunteers too.

Volunteers from the congregation, known to the committee. The masjid's vetting arrangements will be set out here once the safeguarding policy is agreed.

This is one of the things we have asked the masjid to confirm. We would rather leave the question open than answer it wrongly.

Put it on the registration form, in as much detail as you think useful. It is kept confidential and shared only with the volunteers who need to know.

Once a safeguarding lead is appointed, their name and contact will be published here. Until then, call the masjid on 01204 524200 and ask to speak to a trustee.
