Makkah Masjid, in the heart of Bolton, is a vibrant and inclusive mosque and a spiritual home for the local Muslim community. Established to provide a place of worship and unity, it has become a cornerstone of faith and togetherness for generations of worshippers. With its doors open, it welcomes people of all backgrounds, fostering an atmosphere of peace and understanding.
We offer a range of religious services and community programmes designed to support the spiritual, social and educational needs of our congregation — from the five daily prayers to a madrassah for our children, adult courses in the Islamic sciences, and support for families at the hardest moments of their lives.

The Building
Architectural beauty
The masjid's architecture blends traditional Islamic design with a modern touch, reflecting both the heritage and the contemporary needs of the community. The structure features a spacious prayer hall that can accommodate a large congregation, especially during Jumu'ah prayers and Islamic festivals such as Eid.
The minaret stands tall, symbolising the call to prayer, while the elegant interior is designed to inspire reflection and devotion.
