Photographs of identifiable people — children above all — need consent from the person or their parent before they are published. This is a legal requirement as well as a matter of respect.

To be confirmed: whether the masjid holds consent for existing photographs, and whether consent forms cover publication on a website rather than internal use only. Until that is settled, this gallery should show the building and events at a distance rather than faces.

If a photograph of you or your child appears here and you would rather it did not, tell us and it comes down the same day, no explanation needed.

Every photograph on this site is a placeholder. They are licensed stock images of mosques and Islamic settings, chosen to show the right kind of picture — but none of them shows Makkah Masjid, its rooms, its students or its congregation.

Real photography replaces all of them before launch. The priorities are the exterior, the prayer hall, the women's section, the madrassah rooms and the hall as it looks set up for an event.

Good photographs of the building are worth more here than any amount of design.
